Lunawood Deck with
Custom Angled Stairs
For this project, a designer reached out to us to collaborate on a custom deck for their clients. The goal was to build a space that was functional, long-lasting, and visually refined, using natural wood rather than composite or PVC.

- Collaborative DesignDesigned in partnership with a local residential designer to reflect the client’s vision with expert execution.
- Custom Stair LayoutRecessed and angled stairs inspired by the home's kitchen addition to create symmetry and architectural character.
- Space OptimizationLimited deck depth to 12 feet to maintain functional yard space while addressing different door heights with a one-level solution.
- Finishing TouchesPicture frame decking border, horizontal fascia, and vertical skirting for a polished, professional finish.
Materials Used
- Decking: Lunawood (Thermally Modified Timber)
-
Fascia: Horizontal 2×4 fascia with vertical skirting
-
Framing: Pressure-treated wood
Project Outcome
We built the deck level with the lower door and added a step from the higher one. The stairs were recessed for a clean look and styled with angled sides to match the home’s kitchen addition. A picture frame border, fascia, and vertical skirting added detail, while Lunawood provided the natural, low-maintenance finish the clients wanted.
