This Lunawood deck project marked one of the first Lunawood installations for Delta Decks. The client’s old pressure-treated deck had completely rotted out, and they wanted a modern, durable replacement that would still retain the original layout with a few important upgrades.

Key Features & Design Elements

  • Deep Steps for Lounging
    We crafted 16-inch deep steps, providing comfortable seating without sacrificing valuable deck space.
  • Modern Cedar Privacy Screen
    Custom-built privacy screen with alternating horizontal cedar boards for texture and character, installed tightly for maximum privacy.
  • Durable Railing with Style
    We installed cedar railing framing with Deckorators bronze pickets for a stylish finish that matched the home’s exterior. A 2x4 top rail was added for use as a drink rail.
  • Clean Finishing Touches
    The deck features full-length Lunawood boards (no joints), picture frame step finishes, horizontal fascia, and vertical skirting with a storage access door built into the side.

Materials Used

Project Outcome

We started with a full tear-down and installed new concrete footings for stability and longevity. This project delivered a natural, low-maintenance backyard retreat with an upgraded privacy screen, safer and more comfortable steps, and seamless integration with the existing space. The use of Lunawood ensures excellent durability and weather resistance, while the cedar details add warmth and character.
