This composite deck was one of our most unique builds of the year. Located in midtown Toronto, the homeowners wanted to maximize usable space in a compact backyard with a raised kitchen walkout.

    Designed to minimize long stair runs and maximize usable outdoor space.

    Upper level includes a BBQ and coffee nook, while the lower level serves as a lounge area for 4–5 people.
  • Scenic + Budget Railings
    Glass railings on the upper deck maintain openness; pickets on the lower level balance cost and safety.
  • Stylish Waterfall Fascia
    A double fascia with a waterfall edge creates a seamless transition between levels and acts as a barrier.
  • Ambient Stair Lighting
    LED riser lights add warmth and visibility after dark.

This compact backyard was transformed into a highly functional outdoor space with a stylish two-level design. The layout separates cooking and lounging zones, enhances flow with wide stairs, and incorporates lighting and custom railings for both aesthetics and safety.
